Le Chêne Vert pots and urns are handmade in a family workshop in Anduze, southern France, using the traditional hand-thrown and rope-thrown techniques that made the Anduze vase world-renowned. Proudly defending French craftsmanship, the workshop blends innovation with centuries-old tradition, supplying their pieces to Versailles, Montpellier, Nice Côte d’Azur, and many other notable sites.

Legend tells that in 1610, inspired by the elegance of a Tuscan Medici urn seen at a fair in Beaucaire, a potter created the first Anduze planter. Its design combines Italian expansiveness with French Cévennes restraint. Originally made for citrus trees to adorn aristocratic estates, these planters became symbols of prestige in southern French gardens and remain highly sought-after worldwide.

Glazed pots naturally develop fine crazing, which can become more visible over time with mineral deposits from soil. These can be removed easily with dry fine steel wool. While not considered fully frost-proof in Europe or North America, they are well suited to most Australian conditions.
