We are super excited to share the news of our upcoming Gardening School, launching this spring at Brookfield Gardens!
Designed for both beginners and garden enthusiasts, our two-hour modules blend classroom learning with hands-on experience, giving you the confidence to grow and create in your own garden.
From soil and plant selection to seasonal planting and design principles, each session is tailored to Brisbane’s unique subtropical conditions. Guided by our expert team, the Gardening School is the perfect place to learn, be inspired, and connect with like-minded locals. We can’t wait to welcome you this spring!
Your Garden Educator
With over 20 years of experience as a senior horticulturist, Renee Holbrook brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Brookfield Gardens’ Gardening School.
Her career combines extensive hands-on expertise in plant care, soil health, and plants with a deep love for teaching and sharing her skills.
Renee has guided countless gardeners—from beginners to seasoned enthusiasts—through workshops, classroom-style sessions, and practical demonstrations. Her approach is rooted in making gardening accessible, enjoyable, and rewarding, ensuring students leave with confidence and practical know-how to apply at home.
As Brookfield Gardens’ Garden Educator, Renee inspires others to connect with nature, grow resilient plants, and create thriving gardens tailored to Brisbane’s unique climate.
Enrolments open 1st October 2025
The 'Gardening Fundamentals' course contains three classes. Each class is a 2 hour morning session led by senior horticulturist Renee Holbrook.
Where: Brookfield Gardens
When: 9.30am - 11.30am on October 14th, October 28th and November 11th.
Cost: 6 hours over 3 days, $450.
Includes course materials, certificate of completion and morning tea by Wild Canary. Additional Garden School subject matter and classes will be added and repeated through-out the year.
