A beautifully resilient salvia prized for its soft two-toned mauve-blue and white flowers, carried on elegant upright stems from spring through to autumn. Exceptionally hardy and adaptable, Salvia ‘African Sky’ thrives in full sun or part shade and performs brilliantly in Brisbane gardens with minimal care.

Its aromatic light green foliage and long flowering habit make it ideal for relaxed cottage gardens, wildlife-friendly planting and larger landscape applications. Over time it forms a natural dense thicket, making it perfect for informal hedging, screening or soft windbreaks while attracting bees and beneficial insects throughout the warmer months.

Why you’ll love it:

  • Long flowering from spring to autumn
  • Extremely drought tolerant once established
  • Suitable for sun or part shade
  • Ideal for hedging, screening and wildlife gardens
  • Attracts bees and pollinators

Planting & Care:
Plant in well-drained soil in full sun or part shade. Water regularly while establishing, then only occasionally once mature. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape, and cut back harder every few years to rejuvenate growth.

Mature size:
Approx. 1.5 H x 1.5m W

Ideal for:
Cottage gardens, informal hedging, coastal gardens, pollinator gardens and drought-tolerant landscapes.
