Hoya obovata

Size

Hoya obovata are semi-succulent plants with large oval green leaves. The leaves are thick and they hold more water than your typical thin-leaved house plants.

This also means they are great house plants if you are new to house plant parenting (or haven't had much luck in the past)! They naturally pull nutrients and moisture from the air which means they will appreciate it if you mist them, or provide some humidity.

Fast-growing, flowers willingly and easy to grow. Round, dark green leaves with abundant silver flecks, measuring up to 10cm in diameter.

Flowers are pale pink reaching 15mm across, with darker pink corona. Up to 25 flowers per umbel. Lovely, sweet rose-like perfume. Nectar producing. Flowers last up to 14 days.

Sun exposure: Medium to bright indirect light.
Water requirement: Prefers well-drained gravelly mix. Water less in winter.
Maintenance: Low. Fertilise in growing period.
